That’s right, Neal Brown went international. Finnish defensive end, Edward Vesterinen, just announced his commitment to WVU via Twitter.
The 6-4, 240-pound strong-side defensive end played for the Helsinki Roosters, an American football team based in Helsinki, Finland.
“Edward is one of the most underrated recruits that we have had in Europe as he is a kid that is a beast,” said Brandon Collier of PPI Recruits, an organization trying help European prospects land at Division-I schools in the United States.
“He runs 4.7 and can bend and has power with a great twitch. I truly believe if he played high school in the USA he would be a top one national recruit. His recruiting was a little slow because he is not the long kid that teams seem to want but he has the entire package.”
Vesterinen held offers from WVU, Coastal Carolina, and Massachusetts. He joins tight end Victor Wikstrom (Germany) as WVU’s second 2021 recruit from across the pond.
