2. Oklahoma State
Projected record 10-2
2020 is the year of Oklahoma State. They have their best team in years and look to contend for a Big 12 title.
The offense is loaded with Spencer Sanders back at QB and looking to build off his 2019 season. He had an overall solid season but needs to clean up his consistency to help the Cowboys breakthrough. Chuba Hubbard is back at RB and looks to be the best in the country and a strong Heisman hopeful. The receiving core is also led by Tylan Wallace. Wallace is arguably the best receiver in the country and should be fully healthy after an injury ended his 2019 season.
The defense returns 10 of 11 starters and looks to take the next step. While returning your entire defense is never a bad thing, they need to improve. The Oklahoma State defense was in the middle of the pack in 2019. However, they don’t have to become elite with a powerful offense to help them. If Oklahoma State can get a few lucky breaks and hold teams under 30 points, Oklahoma State will be a playoff dark horse in 2020.
