West Virginia 2020 Season Preview
The West Virginia 2020 season preview boils down to the QB play. If Doege or Kendall can get the offense firing on all cylinders, the Mountaineers could be dangerous. However, a failure to make an impact will lead to a step back.
The Big 12 is the deepest conference in the power five. Teams 1-9 can beat anyone else in the conference on any given day. Even Kansas is improving under Les Miles and almost caught Texas last season.
For West Virginia, they need to open the offense up. Neal Brown had the most success when he was getting rushing production from his quarterback. While Doege and Kendall aren’t elite runners, being able to move the chains with their legs would go a long way. The defense should be able to keep them competitive and should take a step forward in 2020. I have faith that Doege can be more efficient and build off a promising finish to 2019. With strong QB play, West Virginia should get to 7-5 or 8-4. They still have more work to do, but they are headed in the right direction.
