Zachary Evans is arguably the most talented RB in his class, and has had a very interesting recruiting journey. He announced he made a decision private decision on his recruitment in September of 2019. Then, in December of 2019, he signs a National Letter of Intent with Georgia – but he wanted to wait until Under Armor All-American Game (Jan 2nd) to announce where he was headed. During the Under Armor All-American Game, he still did not announce what team he was sigining with. Instead he issued an apology to those recruiting him. Shortly after, Georgia released him and his recruitment started all over. Fast forward to May 11, 2020, and now he’s a Horned Frog.
This is undoubtedly good news for TCU fans. Evans has had some minor off the field issues in High School but he’s a kid, I don’t think he should be judged too harshly. So put that stuff aside and TCU just got one of – if not the – best RBs in the class of 2020. Per 247 rankings, Evans is the No. 16 overall player in the nation, No. 2 running back, and No. 1 player in Texas. According to Chris Hummer, “Zach Evans is the highest-rated recruit to sign with TCU.”
Well done GP and the gang, well done.
