While the Tennessee Vols still have the Gator bowl in 2019, it’s hard not to look ahead to 2020. 2019 may not have been the season Vols fans dreamed of but it could have been worse. That’s okay though because Tennessee has a serious QB coming in 2020 and his name is Harrison Bailey.
For those that need a refresher, Harrison Bailey is 4-star, no. 4 pro-style QB in the 2020 recruiting class according to 247sports. This kid can ball. He boasts an impressive arm, solid reads, and stands at a staggering 6-4 and 217 pounds. In 31 games played, Bailey boasts 9,307 total yards, 300.2 yards/game and a 123.4 QB rating (via maxpreps).
While there’s no doubt this kid has the athleticism and talent to have a serious impact on the Vols, he is also praised for his leadership ability – something Pruitt picked up on right away.
This is exactly what the Vols needed. A sound quarterback who can lead the team. I respect Guarantano for what he has done and the adversity he has pushed through for the Vols, but it looks like there will be a new era with Bailey. I’m sure Bailey won’t get the start right away but i”m expecting him to earn that role by the middle of the season. This team is going through a transition. With Butch Jones era players leaving and Pruitt era players coming in, now is the perfect time for a young talented quarterback to lead this team.
