Mark Stoops Says Kash Daniel Will Be “Ready to Go” Against Louisville

Kash Daniel is as Kentucky as it gets. It’s hard to believe that the Paintsville native has reached the final home game of his UK career. This season hasn’t necessarily gone according to plan for Daniel. He referenced the two concussions in three games that he suffered Friday on Kentucky Sports Radio.

Daniel didn’t play in the second half of Kentucky’s 50-7 win over UT-Martin on Saturday afternoon and it made waves among fans and media alike. His whereabouts were even in question.

Naturally, Mark Stoops was asked about Kash Daniel pretty early during his pre-Louisville press conference.

He answered it with a lot of the things that we already know about Daniel. He “leaves it all out there” and “plays hard” and “gets beat up”. But Stoops and Daniel, in his interview Friday, referred to the underlying adversity that no one knows about. Stoops called them “trials and tribulations” today.

None of that necessarily alleviates any concern or minimizes any speculation about what might be affecting Daniel. He is going to play and be “ready to go” Saturday against Louisville. No doubt he wants to go out with a bang and end his career making lots of tackles and plays against the Cards. Big Blue Nation is hoping for the same thing.

Hopefully all of the unknown adversities that he’s been dealing with can be handled in a similar manner.
