You have to give the LSU Tigers credit for being one of, if not the, best team in the country. If you don’t, you’re either extremely biased or don’t watch any games. All the Tigers have to do now to lock the SEC title is win one of their two last games to clinch the SEC West. Both of those games happen to be at home, one against a 2-8 Arkansas, and the other against a 7-3 Texas A&M. I don’t see either being an issue.
Through the wringer
Let us not forget the resume that LSU has put forth this season. They are the only team in recent history to have beat 4 of the top-10 teams in the country. First was a 45-38 win over #9 Texas, then handled #7 Florida 42-28, a tight 23-20 win over a good #9 Auburn team, and finally a 46-41 win over #3 Alabama for a shootout of the ages. So not only do I think that LSU will easily make the title game, but have no problem winning it. They’ll meet a struggling Georgia team who just clinched the East as of yesterday. Unlike LSU, I don’t think that Georgia has seen the caliber of play that they will from LSU. They better get ready because the Tigers are going to come out swinging.
Heisman at the helm
Right now it looks that Joe Burrow is the favorite to win the Heisman this season. His 80% likeliness comes from 3,867 yards, 38 TDs, and a season QBR rating of 93.2. The next two in line are both having their season woes, a season-ending injury for Tua and Hurts a good 1,000 yards behind. The Heisman is almost sure to find its way in Baton Rouge as I don’t see Burrow losing any steps. Burrow is one of those players that is only going to get better as the games get harder/more important.
Is there really any one else who deserves the SEC title? Let us know what you think.
