Lloyd was one of the best players in the country and projected to land with Georgia.
Surprising most, the top 30 player decided to continue his career at South Carolina instead. He will be the stud in a class ranked 17th in the nation.
The number six running back in the 2020 class will likely be an immediate impact. He also could have considered USC over UGA because of the early playing time. Georgia has been stacked for the last few years. Instead of being a rotational player, he will likely get more time at South Carolina.
Lloyd was compared to Reggie Bush by his old running back coach.
When new South Carolina running back commit MarShawn Lloyd burst on the recruiting scene, his old coach who is now the running backs coach at Maryland in Elijah Brooks told 247Sports in 2017 that the up-and-comer reminded him of Reggie Bush.
“He’s like that but he’s 210,” Brooks stated. “Never coached a back like him. Most explosive back to come through DeMatha in 20 years”Quote from 247 Sports
With the ability to run through or around people, Lloyd will be fun to watch over the next few years
