Good news for Kansas fans. According to Les Miles, stand out linebacker, Dru Prox, should be ready to go for 2020.
According to KUsports.com, Les Miles spoke about Dru Prox and the 2020 season in a phone interview with the Journal-world. In the interview, Miles said Dru Prox “should play” for the Jayhawks during the 2020 season. He added, “We don’t think there will be any hesitation to that,”.
His return is thanks to a new(ish) NCAA rule that stipulates a Division I football player can still redshirt the season if he plays in four games or fewer during any given season. Prox’s 2019 season ended just after 4 games, due to an injury sustained against West Virginia.
This is good news because Prox really showed out in those 4 games. Before his hiatus, Prox led Kansas in tackles with 39, 30 of which are solo tackles. He also totaled two sacks with 2.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and one pass breakup. His return will undoubtedly have a positive impact on Kansas’ defense.
