Oklahoma DE Commit Stands Out At Polynesian Bowl

Oklahoma’s 4-star 2020 DE commit had a hell of a Polynesian Bowl. 247sports labeled Grimes as the top defensive player of day 3’s practice and a top 5 defensive player during the game.

During Practice Grime was described as having a “lightning quick” first step and was “explosive” off the edge. Greg Biggins of 247sports also claimed ” ..he can beat a tackle with more then just a speed rush. He’s good with his hands, knows how to set up a tackle and flashed a quick outside-in move and a strong bull rush today as well.”

As for the game, Grimes only notched 2 tackles and 1 hurry, but he was very involved. According to Greg Biggins of 247sports, “He was just about unblockable off the edge and was in the backfield on just about every pass drop. Grimes has a college body right now and is a high end athlete as well.”

It’s pretty clear this DE Commit is going to be a big player in Grinch’s speed D and is reportedly set to sign with the Sooners in February.
