If you told me 2 years ago, “Tom, you’re going to voluntarily write about a Cleveland Browns Pre-season game”, I would’ve laughed in your face.
Fast forward to 2019 and here we are.
I am writing about a Cleveland Browns preseason game because after chugging beers, Oklahoma’s very own Baker Mayfield had a hell of a day in a short amount of time.
Mayfield only played one series against the Washington Redskins, but went 5-6 with 77 yds and 1 TD. Using a hurry up offense it took him and the Browns 2mns to score that TD.

So what does that mean for the Browns? Well nothing really. Keep in mind this is the NFL preseason ..
Sure that game didn’t mean anything but seeing a happy and healthy Baker Mayfield in a Cleveland jersey did mean something. It means we can expect Mayfield to continue to build off of last year and give Cleveland (and apparently me) something to talk about.
It’s the fact that Cleveland has made some changes and additions that are sticking.
I’m not a big NFL guy but I think another near 500 season (or better) is looking promising. With he help of Mayfield (and many other changes to the Browns organization) there will be no more celebrating single wins like it’s the Superbowl, which has got to be a good feeling for Browns fans..
