Harbaugh Takes Shot At Urban Meyer

Appearing on Tim Kawakami’s The TK Showpodcast from The Athletic (h/t Nick Baumgardner of the Detroit Free Press), Harbaugh offered a unique response when asked about Meyer’s retirement.

“Urban Meyer’s had a winning record,” Harbaugh said. “A really phenomenal record everywhere he’s been. But also, controversy follows everywhere he’s been.”

I get the point Harbaugh was trying to make but it just looks petty. Meyer has had issues throughout his career as he moved around, but Jim, you never won.

This also comes after Meyer retires which is the worst way to drop this. Michigan – Ohio State is one of the greatest rivalries in football. Saying this last season would be great build up to a game you would eventually lose by a billion. Now you just toss a comment out there after he retires and likely won’t see him again.

Harbaugh hasn’t beaten Ohio State during his time at Michigan and hasn’t won a Big Ten title. But hopefully these two can meet up in a few years once Meyer inevitably takes the USC job .
