All-Big 12 Team Full of Sooners and Light on Mountaineers

The conference just released their Preseason All-Big 12 Team ahead of the season. Not surprising that Oklahoma leads the way with the majority of the selections. West Virginia only has one selection on the list, Colton McKivitz.

West Virginia is in the middle of a rebuild and lost some likely candidates to make this list during the offseason. Marcus Simms and Kenny Robinson both would have been in the running and boosted their representation on the list.

Instead West Virginia shares a spot with Kansas State having only one player represented on this list.

Oklahoma leads the way with six selections. The Sooners lost to Texas during the Red River Rivalry but defeated them in the rematch for a Big 12 Title. That was their second consecutive conference title.

Texas QB Sam Ehlinger was tabbed as the preseason Offensive Player of the Year, Oklahoma linebacker Kenneth Murray was voted Defensive Player of the Year and newcomer Sooners, Jalen Hurts was chosen as the Newcomer of the Year by media members who cover the conference.
