Notre Dame locked up the majority of their 2019 class last December. Now they have been hitting the recruiting trail to for the 2020 class and it could be one of their best yet.
The Fighting Irish have already received commitments from three players inside the top 250. But more importantly is the round of official visits Notre Dame is about to host for potential commits. Five star running back, Chris Tyree was just on campus for an official visit and seemed to enjoy himself.
The number one all purpose back also has his offical visit set up in June. He is currently projected to go to Penn State but a lot can change in between now and National Signing Day. The talented back was also tweeting with another Notre Dame recruit, Tirek Murphy, because of what Murphy said about the two playing together.
Both players are incredibly talented and would be a great get for Notre Dame. This is also showing a possible outcome due to great quarterback recruiting. Drew Pyne has already committed to Notre Dame and is currently ranked as the seventh best QB in the class. Phil Jurkovec is also on the Notre Dame roster which could help make an easy decision for skill positions. When deciding where to spend your next four years, a high end QB can always help sway a player.
On top of the visit in June for Tyree, Notre Dame is hosting six other four star recruits in the coming months. Five of which are believed to pick Notre Dame.
Notre Dame has been building success and bringing in plenty of talent. But they still haven’t been able to bring in that five star player. Tyree has seemed to be buying in to Notre Dame. Murphy and Pyne have also reached out to the talented back and tried to recruit him to Notre Dame. High end talent typically want to play with other blue chip players. Most of these guys want to win a National Championship and head off to the NFL. If the 2020 class can finally land that five star that has eluded Notre Dame, it could help entice more top talent to consider heading to South Bend.
