Bruins’ defensemen Kevan Miller and Canadiens’ winger Nic Deslauriers reignited the original 6 rivalry last night in Boston. These guys just pummeled each other at center ice. It seemed the ice was pretty evenly titled, although it looks like Miller had the upper hand.

The fight appeared to spark the Bruins, but unfortunately it just wasn’t enough. The Bruins were up 1-0 when the fight happened. Afterward, the Canadiens would score late in the first period and then again short handed late in the second making it 2-1 Canadiens. Bruins were able to keep the fight alive and tie the game with a PPG in the final 2 minutes of regulation but the hype was short lived.  In the first minute of OT, Jeff Petry batted the puck out of mid air giving the Canadiens the 3-2 victory.

An absolute heartbreak loss for the Bruins but an entertaining game nonetheless. With this loss the Bruins-Canadiens regular season series is notched at two. No doubt it will  be interesting if we see these team meet in the playoffs..
