No lineup changes tonight against Montreal, per Bruce Cassidy. Tuukka Rask starts again in goal. #NHLBruins

Coach Cassidy will start Rask tonight vs the Montreal Canadians. Probably a good choice considering Rask is on a 5 game win streak and obviously has the hot hand. In those 5 games he’s allowed just 6 goals with a .955 save percentage and 1.4 goals against. This reminds me of mid-season Rask of last year who went 21 games straight without a regulation loss.
It’s good to see Rask’s confidence back, and I hope this brings confidence to the fans who called for his head earlier this season. Rask’s save percentage was .902 with 17 GA in October and .904 with 20 GS in December. Now those aren’t the worse stats, but it was definitely not the norm for a starting goalie with a .922 career save percentage.
On the other hand, I understand the criticism of Rask. A starting goal tender being paid nearly $7,00,000 a year should be more consistent, boasting stats closer to that .922 career save percentage throughout the year.
I am looking forward to Rask’s play tonight against the Habs as well as the rest of the season – I think our star goaltender is back for good. No doubt the pressure by Halak’s great play has lit a fire under Rask in a positive way, but we’ll see if this lasts..
