Tonight’s game against the Anaheim Ducks will be a turning point. The Bruin’s could sink further in the standings or go on a hot streak propelling them into the playoff spot they deserve.
Obviously the B’s are feeling good after defeat of the Canadians in Montreal, but will it be enough to carry them forward?
I would say yes, considering the original six rivalry between those two. However, the ducks did beat the Bruins both games they played last year, Tuukka Rask tends to struggle against the Ducks, and The ducks are hot. Anaheim had won four in a row and nine of their previous ten, but the Rangers were able to cool them off a bit as they won by a score of 3-1. The Ducks are still in a tie for second place in the Pacific Division and just three points out of first. With that said, Tuukka and the Bruins have been playing very well recently and we may even see Halak tonight; who has just come off a 4-0 shutout against the Habs.
A big win against the ducks with solidify that the habs win was not a fluke and the Bruin’s could carry this momentum into their next game against Nashville, another worthy western conference team. After playing Nashville, the Bruin’s could very well go on a win streak against the likes of New Jersey, Buffalo, and other not so threatening eastern conference teams.
A loss will further contribute to the “boom and bust” season the Bruin’s have had thus far. Another loss after a big win could instill doubt in a team who’s has yet to catch their stride.
