Pittsburgh Penguins goalie prospect Tristan Jarry scored a full ice goal today in a game against the Springfield Falcons.
🚨GOALIE GOAL ALERT🚨
— AHL (@TheAHL) November 14, 2018
Jarry is only the 14th AHL goaltender to score a goal, and the first in Wilkes-Barre Scranton franchise history. The goaltender has been trying to score a goal in the past games, just like former Penguin Marc-Andre Fleury used to, and current Penguins starter Matt Murray has in the past.
It’s worth noting that Tristan Jarry IS still in the AHL, getting beat out by Casey DeSmith for the backup gig in Pittsburgh. But due to his offensive prowess, maybe he’ll get pulled up, plugged into the third line, and actually score some goals for the Pens. God knows they need it. Tristan Jarry’s goal means that he now has just as many goals as stud San Jose defenseman Erik Karlsson.
Just watch out for all of the crazy Penguins Fans takes : “TRADE MURRY he SUX. JARRY HAS MORE GOALS”. Also say a quick prayer for Marc-Andre Fleury, all he wanted was a goal and a fight as a Penguin and now he’s just a millionaire who gets to play hockey in Las Vegas. T’s&P’s
