Notre Dame vs Ball St Preview

When: 09/08/2018 3:30 on NBC

Where: Notre Dame Stadium

Head to head: 0-0-0

This should be a game where the main focus is to get out with a win and keep everyone healthy. Ball St has a stable of talented running backs and a competent passer. But, Notre Dame is just to big, fast and talented for Ball St to hang around. I expect this game to be close for about a quarter. Ball St will be flying high against a big time team and Notre Dame will be sleeping on Ball St after a giant win last week. While the game will be tight for about a quarter, The Irish will run away with it afterwards. I expect the Irish defense to come out just as strong as they were against Michigan. The offense should look more on par with what they were last season. I won’t lie that i have never watched a Ball St football game for more then a half. I grew up in MAC country (yeah, surprisingly it does exist) but I was pretty much unfamiliar with Ball St and had to do some searching. Ball St was a lowly 2-10 last season but were ravaged by injuries early in the season. From everything I have found, the Ball St running backs have power 5 talent and their QB can compete when he has some talent around him, but his arm strength is suspect. This spells disaster as The Irish defensive backs will be on the hip of the Cardinals receivers all day. As good as the stable of running backs have been claimed to be, outside of breaking a long run should be held in check. The Irish defense proved last weekend that this defensive line has serious talent. Led by Jerry Tillery, the entire offense will be held in check. The Irish offense should run wild and get back to that average of 270 yards a game from last season. Look for Jafar Armstrong to have another big game coming off his 2 touchdown performance last week. Wimbush should only see limited duty but keep the offense motoring along in his short time on the field. Lets look forward to Notre Dame moving to 2-0 and some young players getting some playing time.

Final Score

45-17 Notre Dame
